Meta has blocked the popular Instagram account ‘@Muslim’ in India. This happened following a request from the Indian government, as reported by international media. The move comes amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, with India increasing online censorship efforts.

The ‘@Muslim’ page has over 6.7 million followers and shares content focused on global Muslim communities. After the ban, page founder Amir-Al-Khatab criticized the Indian government’s decision. He said the account was created to support Muslim voices and asked Meta to reverse the ban.

Currently, users in India cannot access the page, though it remains visible to users in other countries. This isn’t the first time India has taken such steps. In the past, it also banned social media accounts and YouTube channels linked to Pakistani artists.
