Kathmandu – Students from The Institute of International Management Sciences (IIMS) College have developed a range of useful and innovative mobile applications. These apps, designed to solve real-world problems, were presented at the IIMS Project Showcase, an event aimed at evaluating and enhancing students’ technical skills.
The showcase featured apps that assist travelers, enable bicycle ride-sharing, provide emergency alerts, and ensure smooth water transportation. The event allowed students from the Bachelor of Computer Science program to demonstrate their projects in a competitive environment.
Award-Winning Projects
Several outstanding projects were recognized with awards in different categories:

Best Poster Project Showcase Award: Hāmro Gantavya – This travel app helps users plan their journeys by analyzing routes, transport options (private or public), travel time, and costs.

Outstanding Critical Thinking Award: Sarara – Easy & Fun Riding – A bicycle ride-sharing app that promotes eco-friendly transportation.

Best Capstone Award: Discrete Emergency Alert System – A secret emergency alert system using IoT technology, designed for people in danger to seek help discreetly.

Best Innovative Award: JalSewa Water Transportation App – This app ensures the efficient supply and delivery of water from sources to consumers.
Judges and Evaluation Process
The projects were judged by industry professionals, including:
- Jitendra Maharjan – Team Leader at EK Solutions
- Kiran Regmi – Talent Acquisition Manager at Leapfrog
- Jatin Bhusal – Research Assistant at a reputed research center
Students presented their projects in three categories: Capstone Projects, Hobby Projects, and Research Initiatives. The evaluation process included poster showcases, live demonstrations, and interactive presentations with judges.
