Realme C75 Launched in Nepal: Durable but Lacking Value

Realme Nepal has introduced the Realme C75, a mid-range smartphone in the Nepali market. The device is available in two storage variants:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage at Rs. 26,999
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage at Rs. 29,999

The Rs. 3,000 price difference between the two models doubles the storage capacity, making it a reasonable upgrade. The smartphone is available for purchase in physical stores and online marketplaces across Nepal.

Realme C75 Overview

Design & Durability

The Realme C75 boasts a flat and boxy design with rounded corners, ensuring a comfortable grip. It features flat metal side rails, which is an improvement over the plastic frames commonly seen in this price range. The power button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner, and volume rockers are placed on the right, while a dedicated SIM and microSD slot is available on the left.

One of its standout features is its impressive IP66/IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance rating. It claims:

  • 0.5-meter immersion for 7 days
  • 2-meter immersion for 24 hours
  • 2.5-meter immersion for 12 hours

Additionally, it features SonicWave Water Ejection technology, which removes excess water using vibrations.

For durability, the phone sports ArmorShell Glass, providing:

  • 260% better drop resistance
  • 400% improved scratch resistance
  • Survives 150 drop tests from 0.7m height
  • Withstands drops from up to 2 meters

However, it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, following the trend seen in recent mid-range phones.

The device is available in Lightning Gold and Storm Black color options.

Display

  • 6.72-inch IPS LCD Panel
  • Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Resolution
  • 90Hz Refresh Rate
  • 580 nits brightness (690 nits in HBM mode)

While the FHD+ resolution is a standard feature, the lack of an AMOLED display is a disappointment, especially when competitors like the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G offer AMOLED panels in the same price range.

Performance & Hardware

  • MediaTek Helio G92 Max Chipset (12nm, Octa-core)
    • 2x Cortex-A75 (2.0 GHz)
    • 6x Cortex-A55 (1.8 GHz)
    • Mali-G52 GPU
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB/256GB Storage
  • 16GB Dynamic RAM (Total up to 24GB)
  • Dedicated microSD slot

Performance-wise, the Helio G92 Max chipset underperforms in its price range, delivering benchmark scores similar to budget devices like the Techno Spark 30 and Redmi 13, which cost below Rs. 20,000. In contrast, phones like the Redmi Note 14 at a slightly lower price use a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, offering better performance.

The device also introduces a Dynamic Button that can be customized to launch apps like the flashlight, camera, and more.

Cameras

  • 50MP Primary Camera (f/1.8 aperture)
  • Secondary Auxiliary Lens (Specifications not disclosed)
  • Dummy Third Cutout (Non-functional)
  • 8MP Front Camera (f/2.0 aperture)
  • Video Recording: 1080p at 30fps (Both front and rear cameras)

Realme includes basic AI photography features like:

  • Tap to Capture
  • Show Palm Gesture to Take Photos
  • Tap Screen Virtual Button for Capture

However, the lack of ultra-wide or macro sensors makes the camera system feel incomplete compared to competitors in this segment.

Battery & Charging

  • 6000mAh Battery (Rated at 5860mAh)
  • 45W Fast Charging (0-100% in 90 mins)
  • Reverse Charging Support
  • 80% Battery Health Retained after 1460 Cycles (Approx. 4 Years)

Realme includes a 45W fast charger in the box, a plus point considering that many brands have started removing chargers from retail packaging.

Software & Features

  • Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0
  • AI-based Features:
    • Mini Capsule 3.0
    • AI Clear Face
    • AI Smart Loop
    • AI Boost

The Realme UI offers customization options and AI optimizations, but Realme’s update track record for mid-range devices is uncertain.

Realme C75 Price in Nepal & Availability

Variant Price in Nepal
8GB RAM + 128GB Storage Rs. 26,999
8GB RAM + 256GB Storage Rs. 29,999

The device is available in physical retail stores and online platforms across Nepal.

Verdict: Is the Realme C75 Worth It?

The Realme C75 focuses heavily on durability and water resistance, making it an excellent option for those looking for a rugged phone. The IP69 certification, ArmorShell Glass, and military-grade build quality make it a unique offering.

However, the underwhelming performance, LCD display, and lack of an ultra-wide camera make it less appealing for users looking for an all-around mid-range smartphone.
